Last updated: August 31, 2026. By downloading, installing, or purchasing a license for Shoo! ("the Software"), you agree to the following.
License. A purchased license grants you the right to use the Software on Macs you personally own or control, for as long as you wish. The license is not transferable to another person without the seller's written consent.
Trial. The Software may be used free of charge for 7 days from first launch, with the full feature set unlocked. After the trial period, a valid license key is required to continue protecting additional applications.
No warranty. The Software is provided "as is". While it is designed to reliably restrict access to protected applications, the seller makes no guarantee against every possible method of circumvention, especially by a person with administrator access to the Mac. Shoo! is not a substitute for full-disk encryption or a system password.
Acceptable use. You may not reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the Software or its license keys. You may not use the Software for any unlawful purpose.

What the app itself collects. No personal data and no analytics. Shoo! goes online for only two things: checking for app updates (it downloads a public list of versions from shooapp.com) and, once, activating a purchased license (the key and a random device ID are sent to our server to protect against piracy). All settings and the backup password are stored locally on your device (in the macOS Keychain and local app preferences) and are never transmitted anywhere.
What the purchase process collects. When you buy a license, our payment processor (Freemius, acting as merchant of record) collects your email address and payment details to process the transaction and deliver your license key. Freemius's own privacy policy governs that data; see freemius.com/privacy. Your email is used only to send your license key and, if the purchase requires it, purchase-related receipts.
What this website collects. The app and this website are different things. The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless, aggregate visit counts). When you click Buy, you are taken to the Freemius checkout page, which is operated by Freemius. None of this runs inside the Shoo! app.
Your rights. You may ask us at any time to delete any record we hold that is tied to your purchase (aside from what Freemius is legally required to retain for tax purposes). Contact us using the address below.
If Shoo! does not work as described, or you are unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked. Refunds are processed by Freemius back to your original payment method and typically appear within 5-10 business days.
